The “European Certificate Nymphea” developed as a project presented to the European Commission responding to the call for proposals ref DO94/C-112/7 regarding the “promotion of the initiatives in areas of the mutual recognition of professional qualifications” and was approved by the commission with reference no. 01 the 8th August 1994 and subsequently presented for development under Leonardo da Vinci.
Whether in the framework of mobility of workers, of the establishment of European enterprises and more commonly in the area of the Europeanisation of vocational practices it is necessary that the current and future workers should be able to .
- Place their activities in a European context.
- Communicate with other European citizens at a professional level.
- Integrate, within their professional activities, techniques which have a Europe approach.
The NYMPHEA European Certificate has the function to respond to these demands, and therefore, integrate into the training and existing qualifications, European competences which favour the practice of a profession in a European context.
The complementarity of diverse projects of LEORNARDO and EMPLOYMENT has had as an objective the commencement of these certificates.
Benefits of the activity:
The NYMPHEA certificate is aimed at those persons in vocational training and for employees completing qualifications at work by extending and complementing the technical qualifications obtained, or in the process of being achieved without affecting the value of these at a national level. To obtain a certificate, the beneficiaries should demonstrate
- A knowledge of the economic situation in their sector in each country of the European Union.
- The ability to communicate in language other than their own which allows the exchange of information in professional situations.
- The experience of work in a business in another European country.
Preparation of the certificates:
- A “European Module” developed through the guidelines of a reference document containing the presentation of the sector in each country.
- A “language module” developed through the use of materials related to the sector (CD Rom, professional dictionary)
- A “Professional Work Placement” in a business with the overall supervision of training centres which establish the contact and oversee the placement.
